The Fondation de la Place des Arts’ annual benefit show,
La Grande Première des futures étoiles, will
take place on June 5 in Théâtre Maisonneuve.
Singer-songwriter Gregory Charles will be the artistic director and
host of the show, which will showcase exceptionally talented young
artists working in various disciplines. Over the course of the
evening, the Fondation will pay tribute to Mr. Richard J. Renaud
and his wife Carolyn, for their support of the arts. The first
edition of La Grande Première des futures étoiles,
which was held in Théâtre Maisonneuve on June 7, 2011,
was successful on all counts, raising over $260,000 in funds.
Pianist and composer Alain Lefèvre, who was the show’s
artistic director and host, shone the spotlight on 11
extraordinarily talented young musicians, dancers, and singers.
During the gala, held under Honorary Chair Ms. Michèle
Dionne, a tribute was paid to Ms. Jacqueline Desmarais for her
dedication to supporting the arts. The receptions preceding and
following the performance brought together high-profile guests, and
helped raise awareness of the Fondation de la Place des Arts and
its mission.
La Rentrée nocturne de la Place des Arts
Next edition: September 14, 2012
The annual benefit evening organized by the young patrons of the
Fondation de la Place des Arts, La Rentrée nocturne de
la Place des Arts, will take place on September 14.
Further details on the next edition will be announced in the
spring. “Casino Royale” was the theme for the 2011
edition of this benefit event, which took place in a most festive
atmosphere on Friday, September 16, 2011, in the Piano nobile at
Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier. The 500 available tickets quickly sold
out. It was a full house! The gaming tables proved quite popular,
and the dance floor was literally crammed. The benefit evening
raised $64,140 through combined ticket sales, donations, and
sponsorships. Remember that each year, the Fondation supports
various activities aimed at youth, such as the PDA Junior series
and other free activities.
